Overview

Bærahi S̺àye was founded durring the early 11th century, by Cónḱ Mbóń̄ 'Erica Mixiepie' Daw̄shīb Vúńó̄ Sé̄shī Treshêbe. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Bærahi S̺àye was built using the conventions of Wareneese durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bærahi S̺àye is no diffrent. The village's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Bærahi S̺àye is is constructed arround a series of broad flagstone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The village sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Bærahi S̺àye's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the village's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. Unfortuantly, these boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around Bærahi S̺àye gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. This all rests atop the unmistakable impression the town is one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which Bærahi S̺àye brings to mind.

Cultural Notes

The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..

In Bærahi S̺àye every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

Points of Interest

Bærahi S̺àye has a conflict with a neighboring community. This usually isn't part of a larger war, but is instead a personal animosity between them. It may be the community has suffered at their enemy's hands, or they may have been the ones applying the suffering. Constant low-level skirmishes and trouble making go on between the two.

Bærahi S̺àye's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.
